Historic Snow in DC!

Our cars are somewhere under there! Trees that fell behind our playset.

This snowbank is in front of our house. Standing on top, Mia can make easy slamdunks!

Here's our deck after the snowfall on Saturday. Those are the girls standing on the snowbank across the street. Those pine branches are usually high enough for adults to walk under. They were really weighed down with snow. Some have broken off since the picture.

After this past week, December's snowfall seems like nothing! Wow, is there a lot of snow out there! I think the Manassas area probably landed between 24-30 inches altogether. The girls have been out of school since last Friday. Turns out no school this entire week either. There's just nowhere to go with all the snow! We've been out a little bit, but many lanes haven't been cleared yet. You can't see around snowbanks on the corners of intersections or in the parking lots either. It's crazy. They're talking about declaring a state of emergency here so we can get help getting all the snow hauled out. It's gonna be a looooong time before this stuff melts away! We're gonna have to pray for a "green" Easter. : )

Tessa Turns Three Months Old!

Tess continues to grow in leaps and bounds. She is a very long little baby in the 90th percentile. At three months she's very easily filling out her 3-6 month outfits. Tess does great at holding up her head and shoulders. She's starting to do little curls or crunches while lying on her back. Tess doesn't say a whole lot yet, but is very attentive and alert to what's going on around her. When we do catch her eye, she's got a big bright smile for us. Lately she seems to be favoring sucking on her thumbs. So we'll see where that goes -- just loves to have something in her mouth regardless -- a nuk, her shirt, a blanket, etc. The last two weeks or so we seem to have a night time routine. Woohoo! To bed around 10 pm and usually not up again until 5 or 6 am. Sleep is so nice. : )
