First Day of First Grade

Here they are -- our big first graders. At first they weren't too sure about this "all day" school thing. The girls were worried about not having enough time to play and watch TV when they got home and do homework. But with two weeks in already, things are going well for them. I think they've realized "all day" isn't that bad and that there's plenty of time to unwind once we get home. Sounds like they're really enjoying it.

Third Set of Butler Twins!

Heath's brother Dan and his wife Jess had the third set of Butler twins in May. Caleb's on the top and Ethan on the bottom. Ours were first in December 2001, then Heath's cousin in early 2003. His grandparents have three sets of twin great-grandchildren now. Pretty crazy! Fun to see them all this summer. Brought back lots of memories! : )

Emily's Wedding

My youngest sister Emily was married on July 13 to Lewis Jiles. We started the day out at the hair salon. The girls were so excited to get their hair done and LOVED their fancy "princess" hair-dos. They posed here with my cousin, Jessica and sisters Jenny and Emily.

The wedding day was beautiful! The service was beautiful. We had such a great day and special times with so many family and friends!

At the reception Lauren caught the bouquet!! The guy who caught the garter was even gracious enough to dance with her too. It was really sweet. Kaitlin and her sisters danced the night away! Lauren was very shy at first, but once Heath made her get out on the dance floor their was no going back! We couldn't believe how they kept going and going and going...like the Energizer bunnies. Great fun was had by all!

Lost: The Same Tooth!

On June 8 the Wisconsin Lutheran High School Band played outside the WWII Memorial in DC. It was a HOT day!! While we sat and listened to them Katie bit into an apple and lost her first tooth! Ironically, the same one Lauren lost. Lauren said, "NOW how will they tell us apart?!"
