East Coast Butlers

We celebrated Mia's first birthday with a "Ladybug Picnic" over Memorial Day weekend.


Grandma & Grandpa Butler were in town and a few friends from church also came over. She LOVED her cake! While we sang to her Mia couldn't resisit putting her finger in the frosting and taking a lick. That chocolate ladybug cupcake went down fast! Mia held it in her hands like a big juicy hambuger and took these giant bites. She had chocolate crumbs and red frosting everywhere. It sure was good!




Lauren and Katie wanted these party blowers. It was hilarious to see Mia blow them in and out and in and out and just walk around the yard. Then she'd hum into it ontop of blowing to get it to make the sound the girls had.



One of Mia's favorite presents was this elephant. She hugged it over and over and carried it around by the ear for a while. She looks hilarious when we wrap its arms around her and velcro them shut. She's got an instant friend!




Lauren decided that Mia had to wear the new hair clips she just got for her birthday. So she not-so-gently put them in! I'm surprised Mia didn't turn around and sock her!

Over Memorial Day weekend Heath and his dad built this playground for the girls. Lauren and Katie liked to help where they could. The whole process couldv'e gone a lot faster for them. ( : Mia was great at standing nearby and giving "advice". We added a little swing for Mia in place of the rings. She's always standing under it reaching up for a ride. Now that it's done, they're having lots of fun!
